People who have the skills to be hackers should consider getting into ethical hacking. Ethical hacking involves more or less testing systems legally in order to find various flaws. Ethical hackers are going to use all of the tools of other hackers, but they are essentially seeing whether or not a particular software system is going to be safe from hackers by hacking into those systems. Getting ethical hacking training can be the first step towards a solid and in-demand career for a lot of people.
Earning an Ethical Hacking CertificationIn most cases, the people who are going to become certified ethical hackers are going to need to pass the Certified Ethical Hacking exam through the EC-Council. In most cases, in order to pass this exam in the first place, people are going to need to learn ethical hacking in a more formal environment. There are some people who are skilled enough at it on their own that they will more or less do all of the coursework independently. This is at least going to give them a head-start when it comes to becoming skilled enough in the field.
However, most people are going to need to take an ethical hacking course for the sake of more formal ethical hacking training even prior to their official training. It’s difficult to take the official training with no prior experience. Some people will get away with an ethical hacking tutorial. Most of these courses and lessons are going to be available online almost exclusively.
In order to take the CCISO Exam in the first place and earn the ethical hacking certification, people must do ethical hacking training through the organization. They must demonstrate their capabilities in three of the five different CCISO Domains in order to achieve eligibility for the exam. The actual exam is going to last for around four hours, and there are typically one hundred and twenty-five questions on the exam.
People also need to be at least eighteen years old in order to attend the official training sessions or in order to get started, unless they get the consent of their parents or guardians. Otherwise, there are few limitations on who can get into ethical hacking or who can learn ethical hacking from here. It’s all about what people can do and not who they are.
Ethical Hacking and EducationWhen it comes to actual educational qualifications, passing the exam through the EC-Council is enough for the people who are trying to earn the certification and who want to become ethical hackers. Usually, any organization who hires an ethical hacker is just going to care that the person in question is able to do the work. It’s less about qualifications and more about special skills.
There are very few universities and tech schools that will offer an ethical hacking course, let alone an ethical hacking degree program. Some certified ethical hackers are going to have degrees in information technology, and this might make it easier for them to get hired to various jobs. However, people who lack formal educational qualifications outside of their ethical hacking certification can still usually find work.
